Our versatile and imaginative group re-forms itself for every production, and we hold auditions for each new show, which means that we can attract the best talent available in the area. 

We aim to be a friendly and welcoming community, with each show being made up of new performers and those who have worked with us before. All parts are open to everyone – each auditionee has an equal chance of being cast!

We have always tried to tackle musicals that are slightly more challenging than those normally performed on the community stage, at the same time as producing top-quality interpretations of classic shows. Over the years, these have included Sweeney Todd, Avenue Q, Guys and Dolls, A Little Night Music, Oh What A Lovely War!, A Chorus Line and Cabaret.

We also produce staged concerts and have performed in a variety of venues, including theatres, community halls and the remains of a castle! These concerts give the performers the chance to sing songs they may not otherwise get the chance to sing.

We strive to produce the best-quality productions we can, hence our slogan: “Local theatre at its best”. In addition to talented on-stage performers, we also seek out the finest musicians, the most experienced backstage crews, the most creative stage design, lighting and sound engineers.

Company MK has no continuing membership, but reforms for each show. The steering group oversees productions and seeks to build a strong community of friends with a love of producing great theatre.
